All Five Schlitterbahn Waterparks to participate in the world-record-breaking largest simultaneous swimming lesson on June 22nd, 2017.
June 22, 2017 – All five Schlitterbahn Waterparks are participating in the world’s largest swimming lesson Thursday, June 22nd, to promote the importance of water safety. The swim lessons take place at hundreds of locations around the world, including at all five Schlitterbahn Waterparks, simultaneously on the 22nd in a coordinated attempt to break the Guinness World Record. Schlitterbahn hopes to promote the importance of teaching children to swim at a young age to prevent drowning.
The swim lesson for the world record attempt is free. Event participants receive discount or free admission to Schlitterbahn on June 22nd immediately following their lesson. Details about event information can be found at each location’s media advisory: New Braunfels, Galveston, South Padre Island, Kansas City and Corpus Christi.
“Giving your child the ability to swim is one of the best ways to keep them safe around water,” said Terri Adams, Schlitterbahn’s Chief Operating Officer. “While we are looking forward to shattering the world record, we’re equally excited about getting more children water safe this summer.”
