New Braunfels, TX  October 10, 2018 — Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts awarded it’s “Living the Legacy” award to three members of the Schlitterbahn staff family during the company’s 2018 Leadership Summit held in Corpus Christi October 1-3rd.
The highest staff award at Schlitterbahn, the Living the Legacy award recognizes leaders who exemplify gracious determination through their words and actions to keep the company the leader in water-themed family entertainment. This is the second year the award has been given; in 2017 Schlitterbahn New Braunfels’ General Manager, Darren Hill, was named the first Living the Legacy award recipient.
This year’s Living the Legacy award recognized:
Basil “Boat” Boatright, Corporate Director of Security and Loss Prevention, has been part of the Schlitterbahn staff family for 28 years. Boat, as he is known to everyone who works with him, has combined his extensive law enforcement background and expertise with a passion for keeping guests safe and secure at all Schlitterbahn properties over the years.
Keith Fontenot, Executive Director of Brand Execution and Compliance, is a 25 year veteran at Schlitterbahn. He has worn many hats at Schlitterbahn, serving as director of operations and, general manager at multiple parks. A well-respected speaker and very active in industry associations related to aquatic and operating standards, Fontenot has lead Schlitterbahn’s waterpark operational teams for many years.  
Lisa Presley, Corporate Art Director, has led Schlitterbahn’s brand look and feel for 19 years. In her role, she has directed the Schlitterbahn brand look and feel for everything from the distinct style of billboards and digital ads to the award-winning radio and television advertising to the support of donated graphics for countless local community groups.
